Job Title:                    Mortgage Loan Underwriter

Underwrite FHA/VA/CONV/USDA loans per agency guidelines.  Support processors and loan originators daily. Become familiar with other product guidelines as they become available. Respond to Investor suspense items, audit requests and loan scenarios.


  • Underwrite FHA/VA/CONV loans.
  • Underwrite new files in a timely manner.
  • Underwrite files to comply with investor/agency guidelines
  • Determine investor eligibility.
  • Review conditions in a timely manner
  • Answer inquiries from production staff on a timely basis.
  • Respond to investor pended items and audit requests
  • Stay informed with investor and agency changes


  • Minimum 5 years mortgage underwriting experience preferred
  • College degree in related field preferred
  • FHA-DE and VA-SAR preferred
  • Experience with Encompass preferred
  • Experience working with multiple investors preferred

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of regulatory and compliance issues affecting all aspects of the lending process


  • Position takes place in an office environment
  • Position often requires overtime
  • Flexibility to assist with schedule shifts/shortages
