FLSA Status:             Exempt

Salary Range:            $55,000 – 75,000

The Operations Specialist is responsible for processing the back-office needs of The Corundum Group, including transaction processing, reconciliation, reporting and overall management of the core portfolio management system, Advent Portfolio Exchange (APX). Regularly communicates with other operations staff on critical account and systems information. Manages tax processing of funds and client individual tax returns.

Key Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for daily transaction processing and reconciliation from custodians into APX.
  • Interfaces with custodians to ensure proper execution of transactions.
  • Assists the Fund Controller with partnership accounting and processing.
  • Assists the Chief Compliance Officer by providing reports necessary for production of compliance materials.
  • Liaises with tax preparation firms to coordinate tax preparation for entities, trusts and individuals.
  • Produces internal and external reporting, including performance reporting, quarterly client statements and ad-hoc requests.
  • Performs month-end closing procedures.
  • Performs Quickbooks transaction entry and reconciliation.
  • Works with relationship managers on custom reporting requests and client questions.
  • Supports and communicates issues with Vice President of Operations effectively and in a time-sensitive manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience & Capabilities:

  • Candidates should have 4 or more years’ experience in Banking / Finance / Broker-Dealer / RIA operations.
  • Knowledge of accounting, accounting systems, investments, performance calculations.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with Advent software products preferred (APX, Partner, ACD)
  • Experience with general ledger software (Quickbooks, Sage. Etc.)
  • Four-year degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics required.
  • CPA preferred, but not required.
  • Effective communicator and collaborative professional.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new software environments
